Fusion of styles and colors in the 10th

Some encounters seem obvious. When Hilary crosses the threshold of this Haussmann-style apartment, she immediately sees the setting for her new family adventure. Wanting a colorful, modern and bright space, she entrusted the renovation to the architecture firm Supercraft, founded by Romain Chauveau. Seduced by this project, he reinvents the places, infusing them with a colorful and vibrant energy, evoking the sunny warmth of California. Discovery of a colorful apartment, sold by the Junot 10th agency.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us what did you like most during your first visit?

Hilary: Hello, my name is Hilary, I am originally from California, but I have lived in Paris for two years with my husband and my two children. This apartment immediately appealed to me for its light flooding every room, its large spaces and its unique and luxurious finishes, such as the superb moldings and the Hungarian point parquet flooring. It is a unique place, with a singular aura. A real favorite.

Why did you choose Supercraft for the decoration of the apartment?

Hilary: My first requirement was to choose an architectural firm in the area, so that they could fully grasp the spirit of it. After meeting with three agencies, Supercraft was the obvious choice. With them, the current passed instantly.

What was the apartment's biggest challenge?

Romain: We are more used to working from white walls and adding color with the choice of furniture or decoration. Here, on the contrary, color is an integral part of the apartment. She sometimes pigments the walls with deep tones, like the midnight blue of the entrance, or more subtle, like the anise green of the living room. The master bedroom features shades of blue, highlighting the ceiling moldings. The children's bathroom, for its part, mixes soft and sunny shades, such as pink, orange and green.

It’s a very happy place to live, like the shared happiness of Hilary’s family.

Can you tell us how you approached the apartment renovation?

Romain: We started the transformation with the two main rooms, the living room and the dining room. We wanted to preserve the original decorations as much as possible and enhance the moldings through restoration work.

In the dining room, we installed a large central table for ten people, custom-made, and a work surface facing the window and mirrored with the fireplace to give an impression of grandeur. The coffered ceiling is also notable, adding a dramatic and refined touch.

In the master bedroom, we divided the space and installed a mirror high up to capture the reflections of the moldings, thus creating an illusion of an extension of the ceiling. Behind this mirror, the bathroom and toilets are discreetly hidden, making the rooms interact with each other.

The entire apartment has been carefully designed and each element meticulously thought out for a coherent and functional aesthetic.

How did you choose the furniture and decoration?

Romain: I imagined the atmosphere of the apartment in collaboration with Hilary. From the start, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted. My job was to select complementary pieces, harmonizing perfectly with her ideas.

The decoration blends with the warm tones of the original wood and is enriched with large vases, frames and expressive works. The tables, the chests of drawers, the chairs, most of the pieces have been custom designed, especially for this apartment.

Hilary, what is your favorite room?

Hilary: I like to sit on the large sofa and take a moment to look at our beautiful center table and the bar. It's an almost theatrical place, which inspires me every day.

The open kitchen is also a central room for our family. We gather there for moments of cooking and conviviality. Its Scandinavian design, deliberately minimalist, allows us to personalize the space with personal decoration, rich in colors and textures. The central island, which serves as a dining area, is the heart of this room animated by the laughter of children and enveloped in soft natural light.

How is life in the neighborhood? Can you tell us your 3 favorite addresses?

Hilary: It's a very lively, effervescent and cosmopolitan neighborhood where you never get bored. There's always a new restaurant to try or exciting people to meet.

Among my favorite addresses, I cannot recommend enough the Julhès grocery store, a must-visit every morning for breakfast. Their pain au chocolat is irresistible and my daughter loves their chouquettes. At lunchtime, I often go to Echo, a restaurant that reminds me of sunny California and makes me feel a little like home. And for a snack, I never miss an opportunity to have a cookie at Fenouil. They are, in my opinion, the best in Paris.
