A 1980s vibe

Géraldine B. Prieur, founder and artistic director of Rouge Absolu, is not just an interior designer, scenographer and peerless colorist; she is a storyteller who plays with dreamlike forms through polychromatic universes. From Paris to London, where she continued her studies in art history and design, she has for more than 20 years cultivated a distinctive style that celebrates audacity, eccentricity and joie de vivre.

In this Haussmann-style apartment near the Place de l’Étoile in Paris, Géraldine pays tribute to a vibrant color palette she particularly cherishes. A nod to the 1980s expressed through an edgy, energetic chromatic choice, fusing modern aesthetics with classic 19th century charm.

House of glam

Géraldine B. Prieur has infused the "Étoile" apartment with a "House of Glam" spirit in which each room tells a story of color and emotion. The rose pommette, indigo blue, malachite green, citrus yellow and tango orange tones are directly inspired by the flamboyant pop aesthetic of the 1980s. This period known for its daring approach and dramatic flair is reflected in Géraldine's choices: bold decorative elements, strong geometric patterns, along with inventive use of light and texture. While respecting the apartment's original architectural elements, she has succeeded in creating a dialog between heritage and innovation.

A journey through time

Géraldine's ability to fuse interior architecture with scenography takes on a new dimension in this project. Her collaborations with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Dior demonstrate her ability to create spaces that weave a narrative. The "Étoile" apartment is no exception: every area is a stage, every detail a reminiscence of the 1980s revisited. There is a mixture of contemporary pieces, pop art and vintage treasures, creating a space that is both a tribute to and a reinvention of this iconic period.

In short, Géraldine B. Prieur doesn't just "redecorate" spaces; she reinvents them with a bold vision, while paying unhesitating tribute to the designers who inspire her. Drawing on the poetic and artistic heritage of her family, which includes painters and renowned poets, she asserts her artistic references in her resolutely modern, warm-hearted projects. At the confluence of fashion and the decorative arts, Géraldine reinvents codes and overturns traditions. Free to make her own choices, she eschews convention to write a new chapter at each of her locations.

Géraldine B. Prieur is not only an interior designer: she also tells stories through colors and shapes
